Protest Songs For A Better World Volume IV - July 27, 2011

Damian Coen's anti-war song, In The USA , was selected to be on the 2011 compilation CD put out by Brian Gladstone's non-profit organisation, A Better World: "The wide range of styles and subject matter of this compilation of ten thought-provoking and musically entertaining tunes from around the world will educate and provoke you, while also offering much tuneful delight". BEN STAKER JOINS THE BAND - December 1, 2009

The new bass player for the Fathers of Necessity is Ben Staker. Although just 18 years old, Ben has a mile of talent, and we're lucky to grab hold of him before he becomes big news in the Jazz world. Rumour has it he's about to acquire his first double bass soon - so look out!

ASA AWARDS - August, 2008


The Australian Songwriters Association (ASA) Damian Coen's heartfelt, moving song In My Father's Footsteps, on his newest album, We Gotta Move was the WINNER of The Best "Instrumental" Songs for 2008.


Other songs to be shortlisted were: Holy Water (Spiritual); Hot Tin Roof (Open) and Tsunami (Folk Acoustic).

ALBUM RELEASE & DISTRIBUTION - March 23, 2008

Damian's new album, We Gotta Move, was released in Australia via Planet/MGM on the 19th April, 2008. The album is available at most all record shops throughout Australia and New Zealand and individual songs can be purchased on line. Damian's previous album Six Lane Highway (2004) is also distributed under Planet/MGM.
